At present outdoor multi-sport events can take place provided they are covid compliant. Our events are covid compliant and it is our intention for all advertised events to take place.

We have learned a lot since events were initially wiped out by coronavirus. In September 2020 Trihard held the Helvellyn Triathlon with 500 entrants. The event went very well and the day was in no way diminished by measures that we had to put in place to make it covid-secure. We successfully held all of our planned events in 2021

People are now well used to measures such as face covering and social distancing so not too many reminders were necessary. There is currently no requirement for individual starts, we intend to have massed starts as before this year.

Draft-legal racing is now permitted where appropriate, this affects Redcar Super-Sprint Triathlon and The Yorkshire Duathlon Sprint race.

• Social distancing – All our events take place in the open air so by nature are pretty covid safe, however there are areas where people gather such as the transition area. Where possible try to maintain a comfortable distance between yourself and those around you. Treat the registration marquee or building as you would a shop and apply the guidance prevailing at the time of the event. Bring your own hand sanitiser and use it as you would elsewhere.

If that should change we will follow the guidance of British Triathlon.

Should we find ourselves in situation where events have to be cancelled/postponed because of covid restrictions then we will implement the same 3 options that we have had for the last two years.

1. Deferral to a rearranged date or to the 2023 edition of the event if it cannot be re-arranged for this year.
2. 100% credit to be used against any of our events later this year or in 2023.
3. Refund of entry fee minus 25% to cover our unrecoverable expenses.
